The Rotary Club of Tezpur, located in Tezpur, Assam, has a rich history of community service and engagement. Celebrating its Golden Jubilee in 2021, the club marked 50 years of dedicated service to the community. Rotary club of Tezpur got the charter on 26th December,1971 under Chairmanship of Sri B.P.Singh at Don Bosco school with a membership strength of 24 members. Mr.K.B.Agarwal is the only charter member of the Club, who is still active in the club. Throughout its existence, the club has initiated and participated in numerous projects aimed at improving the well-being of the local population. Free eye Check-up and free Cataract Surgery is one of the signature Project of the Club. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rotary Club of Tezpur, along with the Rotaract Club of Agnigarh, managed vaccination centres at different places of Tezpur. This collaborative effort ensured that over 2,000 individuals received vaccinations, showcasing the club’s commitment to public health. In December 2022, the club, in collaboration with the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF), launched the SMART Pink project (Sahasra Mahila Mammography Screening by ACCF and Rotary Club of Tezpur). This initiative offers free mammography screenings to women over forty, aiming for early detection and reduction of breast cancer rates in the region. Apart from that Club has arranged numerus Health Camps, Blood Donation Camps, Flood Relief camps as well. Every year club conducted Rotary Vocational Excellency Award, to provide recognition to the people working on different fields and Rotary Nation Builder Award, to the Teachers from different Government Schools for their contributions. Rtn Sunil Saraf from Rotary Club of Tezpur was the District Governor of Rotary District 3240 for 2017-18. Till now there are 3 Major Donors , 11 MPHF and 15 PHFs from Rotary Club of Tezpur.
